Danley's Dowel Cradles are a fully welded prefabricated dowel cradle designed to provide exact vertical and horizontal dowel alignment. It is manufactured in two halves from high tensile deformed 6mm bar. Being prefabricated the cradles are manufactured to a standard length of 3m and are available in several different designs to cater for a varying size of round, square and plate dowels.
Also available is a variety of dowel accessories designed to cater for either concrete shrinkage or expansion requirements. The biggest benefit of the Danley Dowel Cradle is that no chairs are needed. No dowel is too big or too small! |

Danley PLATE DOWEL CRADLE System for Contraction Joints
Where to Specify: |
| Contraction joints requiring positive load transfer. |
| |
| Product Information: |
|
The Danley Plate Dowel System for contraction joints comprises a series of load plates (6 or 10mm by 50mm) supported by a side frame fabricated from6mm diameter cold drawn wire. The load plates are welded onto the side frames at alternate ends. Load plate sleeves are fitted to the free end of the plate dowels.
The sleeve is made from a plastic material that will not compress significantly under vertical load. Two strips of compressible foam are adhered to the internal vertical sides of the sleeve. This allows for differential shrinkage and prevents any stress accumulation in the slab adjacent to the load plate.
Danley load plates are also available in hot-dip galvanised finishes. |
| |
| Specification: |
 |
Load plates will be saw cut from hot rolled plate per AS3679 to within 10mm of specified length. |
 |
Side frame supports will be fabricated from 6mm diameter cold drawn wire. |
 |
Load plates will be welded (on one end only) into the side frames, with the welds alternating along the length of the assembly. |
 |
Load plates sleeves will be fitted to the free end of the plate dowel and should extend to within plus or minus 5mm of 2/3 the bar length. (normally 200mm) |
 |
Temporary cross wires (cut prior to concrete placement) will be welded across the side frames to keep the assembly stable during shipping and handling. |
 |
The finished assembly will hold the dowels at 5mm of specified height (normally half slab depth). |
 |
The assemblies will be manufactured so that they stack on top of each other for transportation and remain stable under concrete placement. |

Danley SQUARE DOWEL CRADLE System for Contraction Joints
Where to Specify: |
| Contraction joints requiring positive load transfer. |
| |
| Product Information: |
|
The Danley Plate Dowel System for contraction joints comprises a series of square bars supported by a side frame fabricated from 6mm diameter cold drawn wire. The square bars are welded onto the side frames at alternate ends. Danley DowelMaster Sleeves are fitted to the free end of the square bars.
The Danley DowelMaster sleeve is manufactured to tight tolerance from a plastic material that will not compress significantly under vertical load. It has internal collapsible fins that hold the square bar in the correct position. This allows for differential shrinkage and prevents any stress accumulation in the slab adjacent to the square bar.
Hot-dip galvanised square bars are also available as required. |
| |
| Specification: |
 |
Dowels will be saw cut from hot rolled bar per AS4100 to within 10mm of specified length. |
 |
Side frame supports will be fabricated from 6mm diameter cold drawn wire. |
 |
Dowels will be welded (on one end only) into the side frames, with the welds alternating along the length of the assembly. |
 |
Danley DowelMaster Sleeves should be fitted to the free end of the dowel and should extend to at least 40mm past the centre of the dowel. |
 |
 |
 |

Danley ROUND DOWEL CRADLE System for Contraction Joints
Where to Specify: |
| Contraction joints requiring positive requiring load transfer. |
| |
| Product Information |
|
The Danley Round Dowel System for contraction joints comprises a series of round bars supported by a side frame fabricated from 6mm diameter cold drawn wire. The round bars arewelded onto the side frames at alternate ends.
The round dowel is shrink-wrapped to at least half of it's length to provide debonding effect in concrete.
Hot-dip galvanised round dowels are also available as required. |
